A Rare Shot

It is not often you see the coolest dude in world cricket without his shades on. To be fair, he was only warming up, but you do have to maintain that mystique.

Son Of Geoff

I am famous for sitting on the fence, taking a balanced view, dodging the tough decisions, but I have to say I like this guy.

I like his attitude.
I like his batting style.
I like the way he plays such a straight blade.

I hope we are going to see a lot of him for a long time.

First Timer

How good is it? First test, a few wickets and a win. OK, so 25 overs 3 for 86 isn't glorious but at least he didn't get as tired as poor old Sulieman Benn. 47 overs for 3 wickets and it must have seemed like he bowled them all to the Kat Man.

Too Cool To Move

Even if you are the coolest dude in world cricket there are still days when its hard to stay positive. Especially when someone like the Kat Man is grinding you down.

Spinner Attitude

Well Beau, you got the look, you toss the ball well from hand to hand, but you haven't mastered the tongue action yet.

Now is your chance to show us what you really got.

Dead Ant

Listen, if your name was Sewnarine Chattergoon and they made you wear support stockings that didn't meet in the middle, you would probably throw a wobbly as well.

A National Treasure

Chanderpaul should not be kissing the ground. All of the West Indies should be planting a big wet one on him. How many times has this little rock anchored them in the last few years? Plenty!

Fresh

West Indian fast bowlers are like policeman, they just keep getting younger! I am sure Taylor is a good bowler and all that but he doesn't quite have the look of a Garner, Ambrose, Roberts or Griffiths.

If Tomorrow I Was Leaving For Zion ...

... then I wouldn't stay a minute more.

I have changed my mind, no dreamy bucolic vistas for me, I want to be in the same hot dusty stadium as this girl. Even if it means watching Michael Clarke score a ton.

A Spanking Good Time

"Right, where are all those negative bastards who said I was out of form, out of touch and out of luck?"

A Pictures Worth ...

... a thousand words?
To my mind that is just lazy writing.
This picture says one thing, OUT.
Either that or Brett has been eating too much mango.

Happiness Is ... Quick Wickets

I said it yesterday and I will say it again today, test match cricket is exciting.

The game changes.
The weather changes.
Fortunes change.
Players redeem themselves.
Players make dicks of themselves.
Umpires have time to get things right, and wrong.
It lasts long enough that I don't get a chance to mow the lawn.

Test Cricket!!!!!!!

Two test matches at once and suddenly I am  excited about cricket again.

Bowlers, like young Fidel here, bowling properly.
Batsman constructing an innings.
Not knowing what the result will be inside the first hour.

Give me more.

Good Form

High elbow, loose grip, eye on the ball, up on the toes - looks like the Aussies have kept their form during the break.

Shock of the New

The IPL are not the first to dress up their players like porn stars and circus acts. In 1979 the colours were bright and tacky, if less adorned with sponsorships. I just can't help thinking the players wearing the gear were a bit better back then.
