The IPL are not the first to dress up their players like porn stars and circus acts. In 1979 the colours were bright and tacky, if less adorned with sponsorships. I just can't help thinking the players wearing the gear were a bit better back then.

Better as cricketers or as people?
They were better test players then, but there was not the hitting that we saw from Baz back then. The bowling was faster though.
Better as people? Remember it was led by Tony Greig. Enough said.
