Celebrating The Bouncer

Remember when test wickets would bounce. When big nasties ran in and played a little chin music. When batsman feared for their life not their bank balance. I am sure Robin Smith does. Over the next week or two I intend to live in the past and recall why I loved watching and was bloody pleased I wasn't out there.

Jimmy Jive

James Anderson is not one to get too sad over a bit of moisture in the air or the pitch. Nothing suits his classic action better.

If Looks Could Kill...

... they still wouldn't be as threatening as a well directed bouncer. Kane Williamson is keeping his eye on the ball, only it has already gone.

T For Terrific

In Vernon Philander's case it should probably be T for 10, as in wickets.

Frightens the hell out of me  what this attack might do when they make their way to NZ.

Devon @ Work

Last week I did an image of Devon Malcolm beside the pool. This week I offer the traditional "wind up at the crease" shot to show he did look threatening without a cocktail in his hand.

Curtly and Courtney

A blast from the not too distant past. I love this image of Ambrose and Walsh leaving the field at the end of the day. Seems to embody the size and power of the two, the effort that they have been putting in through out the day and the camaraderie of the fast bowling fraternity.

Go Hard

James Pattinson, with a little help from Photoshop's puppet warp, demonstrates the pressures the quick bowler puts on his body.

The worrying thing is I haven't touched his face!

You're Outta Here

You gotta love Malinga energy - it might reside in his hair or that magic red jewel on the back of his boot.

A Colourful Crowd

Praveen Kumar works hard in front of an attentive and colouful crowd. It's all acton between the rains.

Sharma Karma

Not sure if it is clean living, the power of prayer or blind luck but Ishant Sharma always seems to take an interesting photo.

The camera men of Bridgetown will be hoping it fines up so they can grab a few more action shots.

The West Indian batsman, not so much.
