A Real Brick

As Rahul Dravid walks off he leaves a wall full of images and memories. His legacy looks as solid as his forward defence.

That's Gotta Hurt

Well you would like to think so, and judging by the faces on the old timers losing a series 4 - 0  will not be a happy memory when they look back on their illustrious careers.

Three Wise Men

These three are no strangers to the glare of an Aussie outfield.

They come bearing gifts (of abundant batting talent) but it will be interesting to see if their bowling attack is more frankincense than mire.

A Tale Of Two Veterans

You get the feeling things aren't quite going to script for what we all assume are farewell tourists. The great thing about a four test series is the drama is still in the early scenes, with plenty of plot twists to come. The set designers done a pretty good job as well.

The Flying Buttress

Dravid celebrating the fact he is once again the foundation of an Indian innings. Not a great Indian batting display but where would they have been without their rock?

Bouncy Bridgetown

Dravid is seen here highlighting the fact that there is nothing like a hard red ball hurled at your head at 140 km to distort time and space.

This effect seems to have been quite common so far in the Bridgetown Test.

Just Another Brick In The Wall

Dravid has every right to look a touch tired (and satisfied) having added the 32nd brick to his test century wall of honour.

The Big Three Bend Down

Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar at practice. How many time must these guys have hitched the whites, bent the knees and switched on? One of the hardest things for a long lived professional sportsman must be maintaining the enthusiasm for practice. I guess it is self selecting - if you can keep the focus you can keep getting the results, and these three have turned in the odd good result in the last 20 years.

Sri Lanka Unbalanced

To be fair to Angelo Mathews it is not easy to keep your poise when Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid and Tendulkar are on fire!

Running With The Indians

Never run with scissors.
Be careful when running with wolves.
Avoid running with Rahul Dravid unless you have a death wish or you crave the scary and uncertain.

The Tyranny Of Time

Is this a great player in a form slump or are we watching the Great Wall of India crumble?

Alone

I thought it was leadership which was supposed to make things lonely? Maybe it will just take a little while for Dravid to fell one of the boys again.

Another Great

It would be remiss of me to honour Stephen Fleming without also paying tribute to Rahul Dravid. The Great Wall of India has done an excellent job leading what never appears to be an easy group of players in what has also been a difficult time. As with his batting the man is all class and we hope he is going to be around for a lot longer, just not making centuries against his favourite Black Cap attack!
