Is The Tide Turning?
Raina and Yadav embody the extra energy the Indian side seems to have. It ain't perfect but the side seems to have shaken off some of that "possum in the headlights" look about it. Will be interesting to see if they can back up.

All I Wanted For Xmas Was A Five Day Test
Great knock by Warner, he has every right to be happy.
On the other hand I am not so pleased.
A summer test series in Aussie is a summer tradition where I can usually stay (fairly) impartial and enjoy the cut and thrust of the action while the Kiwi summer is blowing and raining itself into autumn.
There is very little fun to be had watching a ritual execution where those about to meet their maker don't even appear to have the will to fight for their last breath.
It is going to very hard to get up much enthusiasm for the ODI series to follow and I suspect even the Aussie fans are going to get a little tired of the slaughter - perhaps all those Indian fans who didn't turn up to the stadiums back home knew more than we thought.

The WACA Wave
If you are going to play at the WACA it is best you spend a little time taking your head out of the line of the ball while still keeping your eye on it.

Just Not Comfortable
Zaheer Khan's body language seems to sum up how the Indians are feeling about batting at present. They haven't figured out the bounce or the pace as yet, which is kind of strange given that it should come as no surprise. Makes you wonder what all those coaching staff have been doing in the last few weeks?
Lucky for Zaheer he gets to come out and bowl away some of his frustration.

Don't Look Away
Every time you take your eye of the play in this test match, something happens.
I have the power to create a batting collapse just by leaving the room to get a lettuce from the garden.
Ishant Sharma showed you could stick around for a while if you didn't feel the need to have a go outside off stump - until he could resist it no longer of course.

C'mon people. Get off the Xmas couch and give some thought to a caption that sums up this touching moment.

The Snick Not Heard Around The World
How Van Gough might have viewed Ed Cowan's dodgy dismissal on Boxing Day.

Three Wise Men
These three are no strangers to the glare of an Aussie outfield.
They come bearing gifts (of abundant batting talent) but it will be interesting to see if their bowling attack is more frankincense than mire.

Yuvraj Explodes
And in the end, blows away the Aussie challenge. It now seems the biggest danger might be that India beats itself.

Written In Stone
Not quite one for the ages but Kohli's innings shows that when you are on top someone will always come through, and in the really good teams it ain't always the same bloke. Depth, depth and confidence - not a bad winning formula.
