Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

Xavier Doherty might be happy to bowl all night but you can bet the English team will be real happy to turn out the lights and walk off in to the darkness.

Revenge Of The Much Maligned

With the performances of Mitchell Johnson and Stuart Broad so far, this version of the Ashes could be called the Stick It Up Them series - the doubters that is.

Signs And Portents

Not sure I would be using a storm cloud as a backdrop if I was Mitchell Johnson.

Lightening can strike in some very funny places , and at very awkward times.

Big Red

Young Alister McDermott shows some form and some Queensland Red fire.

A slightly redder chip than the original old block the young fella shows the strongest genetic echo in the way he applies that zinc!

Once A Competitive Bastard

Always a competitive bastard. Forget about Justin Langer being available, get big Merv to run down hill for a few overs.

He doesn't look any more out of shape than when he was playing and he has still got that look.

Bend It Like Johnson

Forget about a whole bunch of twenty20 knees ups I can't wait to see how well this fella bends it in dear old blighty.

More Tea Vicar?

Perhaps Ian O'Brien is not alone in being the victim of unfounded rumours. Nathan does seem a little precious himself in this shot.

Rock Star Credentials

Brett Lee might back himself but is there any doubt that his is an old wave compared to the new kid on the block?

A New Work Horse

I like the grafters. The guys who run in hard, bang it into the deck and then go back and do it again. Peter Siddle strikes me as a no nonsense, give me the ball, sort of bowler who will earn every wicket he ends up getting.

Any one notice a resemblance to Craig McDermott?

Bring Back The 'tashe

All fashion is cyclic.
It is time to reinvent facial hair.
Hairy men bowl the ball faster and hit it further - it is a known fact.
If the IPL really still feel threatened by any one else they need only insist on facial hair for all players to put bums on seats
Fast, hairy bowlers now!
Chris Martin is injured - reason? - not enough hair.

Comes The Time

It is another one of those enigmas, wrapped in a quandary. How good could the McGilla have been? Good enough to stride into most other teams in the world I suspect. Oh well, he is about to become another thread in the rich tapestry of world cricket, and some fairly interesting threads there are in that particular weave.

A Pictures Worth ...

... a thousand words?
To my mind that is just lazy writing.
This picture says one thing, OUT.
Either that or Brett has been eating too much mango.

Triple Lee

Just a little bit of fun. You have heard of the seven ages of man well these are the three sizes of Brett Lee. Which one would you prefer to face?

A Marked Man

Beau Casson, newby, left arm chinaman and right in Great Uncle Jrod's cross hairs.

The wickets might be flat but I feel some entertainment coming on.

Another One Bites The Dust

Farewell to the Hogger.

By all accounts a good bloke without being a true force at the bowling crease. I liked the enthusiasm he brought to his game and lets face it left arm spinners are always interesting to watch - even when they don't turn the ball much.

Let us all hope his farewell is dignified and short and with as few speeches as possible from media icons.
