An Oldy But A Goody

There is so little of real interest going on at present I hope I may be forgiven for dwelling in the past.

Now I am old, but not that old that I can remember Jim Laker bowling in 1958. He is a legendary spinner, whether I saw him bowl or not, and as such gets his own little homage - and I just like the bowling action.

A Promising Young Spinner (Revealed)

A young Athers is discovered in 1990, working on his arm ball. Didn't work out that well but he could bat a bit.

Is This A Spinner I See Before Me?

Well time will tell, but 5 for 24 is a pretty good start to Nathan Lyon's test career - and boy do the Aussies need some one to fill that spinning role.

A Classic Twist

Saeed Ajmal giving it plenty of concentration and rotation in his latest outing against the pride of the Windies.

Monty Heads South

Break out those left over Monty masks, he's back.

Apparently he is a better player, and a better person. Now I don't know about that but I do know he is not number one and it will be interesting to watch how he "develops" amongst the heat and the flies.

And can someone tell me if he is a better person now what exactly was wrong with him before?

HARbhajan Gives It A Tweak

What is it about spinners eyes? If they are a window on the soul there is some degree of darkness lurking there.

Still, Murali and Bhaji's eyes are easier to read than Vettori's tongue!

An Orgy of Spin

Our friend the famous left arm chinese athiest is having a birthday and rather than get presents he wants to celebrate the glory that is spin bowling - good show.

So who is this roller of the wrist?

Getting It There

It's a serious business getting that ball all the way down and in the right place. No wonder some of us get into some strange positions making it happen the way we want.

A Little Leggy

A reworking of an older image.

Who can tell me who this wrist spinner is?

Good Form

Young but perfectly formed, this young off spinner shows real style. You get the feeling he can "turn the door knob" fairly hard.

Leaping Spinners

Monty is not the only spring loaded spinner around.

Photos of Brad Hogg show a lot of tension in a very short run and deliver. All that energy has got to be released some how, so it's just as well he takes the occasional wicket.

Special Delivery II

There is something special about a wrist spin bowler and the things he must do to his body to produce an effective delivery. Makes you wonder which body part is likely to wear out first - and that is not an invitation for a rude answer.

This guy is a sub-continent master who could certainly rotate the red pill.
