Steady As She Goes

Great to see Ross Taylor play a measured innings and produce a cornerstone for his team.

Here is a guy who has followed the game plan, done what has been asked of him by NZ Cricket, behaved when as a young fella he would rather not, so he deserves some success. But then I always favoured the good son over that prodigal bugger.

The Hands of a Master

Power
Strength
Flexibility
Subtlety
Class
That's what I will remember
Not the anger, angst, frustration and absurdity of the rest of the silly buggers

Rock and Roll Animal

Unless incensed over some Aussie or Indian atrocity I rarely blog the same player twice, but I couldn't resist this image of the new Kiwi rock star. Muscles, tattoo and black shades - it can't just be about the music baby!

White Hot

The trouble with incandescence is that it doesn't last long. The Black Caps need Brendan McCullum to stay hot for a long while yet.

He has almost got perpetual motion sussed but that whole cold fusion thing, well that might take a little while longer.

Little Master/Little Weed

Big win.

A Good Sheperd

The young Pakistan Under 19 captain had difficulty mustering his troops against the Saffer youth. They now go on to challenge the Indian boys for world supremacy, while the dogs have a long quarantine ahead of them.

Better Names

I am sensing a certain amount of angst and frustration from our UK blogging brothers. Despite outstanding centuries in a meaningless game today I suspect there is still some concern over the fragile little fellas.

Might I humbly suggest that names could be a problem. I mean Strauss and Bell - it is not Hobbs and Rhodes. What The England need to be truly great again is a Tyldesley! It is a bit late for Ernest or Johnny but get up north lads, scour the shires, there has to be a red blooded, bloody minded decendant up there somewhere.
