Very simple - removed the background, adjusted the levels and shadow/highlights, then used the stamp filter for that rough sketch effect.
Stamp filter...I missed that out!
Thanks Marty for sharing the tip. I have been trying to get this exact "look" for quite some time, even in non-cricketing graphics. never got it as perfectly.
