Monty is not the only spring loaded spinner around.

Photos of Brad Hogg show a lot of tension in a very short run and deliver. All that energy has got to be released some how, so it's just as well he takes the occasional wicket.

New Dismissal III

Out, Stalked by Media.

As the level of media intrusion on to the pitch grows it may be time to consider a fifth umpire (!) - one who rules solely on media activity during the game.

Given the number of recent ex players who end up in the media there is potential for great confusion and a few sneaky dismissals.

Keen as Mustard


You can't help thinking that the world cup final is going to pit the two most confident and enthusiastic teams in the tournament against each other. With such an array of world class batsman and bowlers it would be ironic if it was the fielding that made the final difference.

Celebrate - Good Times!


It is hard to shake the feeling that the Aussies are in the groove and going for gold.

I have always been impressed with the way so many egos can be kept pointing (or is that Ponting) in the same direction to best effect. An object lesson for a few of the other pretenders.
