Kohli Cool

The caption on the original photo read something like -  Kohli at cricket practice. Makes you wonder what he is practicing for? Good to see someone channeling Sreesanth's wristware.

In Your Face

This great shot seems to sum up the bi-polar nature of the sub-continental stoush that is about to take place. Who knows what might happen, but it is likely to leave a lot of people wide eyed.

Staying Loose

Yuvraj Singh is a cool dude. Even in a hot shirt he can stay loose and limber, albeit with a little help from the staff.  He may well need all that Zen calm when it comes to facing the Crazy Green Men, 'cause who knows what they might bring to the game.

Running With The Indians

Never run with scissors.
Be careful when running with wolves.
Avoid running with Rahul Dravid unless you have a death wish or you crave the scary and uncertain.

Celebrate Yourself

The aeroplane is a classic especially when you are on the winning side. It is so much classier than the chainsaw, the one finger send off, or the starfish.

Gambhir Goes Big

Now how does that old fashioned 50/50 game go again?

Oh yes, that's right, smash 6 runs an over and just keep going. Then wait to see if they can do the same.

The Last Wicket

On my old hobby horse again - there is no amount of manufactured hit and giggle cricket that can match the intensity and excitement of a test match that builds to the last session on the fifth day!

In Line

It is a linear game - you either play the line or across it, either way the line is always there.

Money for Jam

"Anything on the pads should be money for jam" or so my old school coach used to tell us.

It would seem that aiming at the pads to young Mr Jaffer is just asking for trouble. Which begs the question as to whether he has jam on his scones at tea?

Celebrate

The sign of a true champion. Not matter how many times he has done it the great one still gets excited over a test 50.

Away You Go

Danish Kaneria gives the univeral sign of departure. Which got me thinking (sic). Where is our old mate Billy Bowden while all this cricket is being played?

Defence!

This is why old fogies like me still watch test cricket - it can be as much about defence as attack. Misbah-ul-Haq can score 80 something runs at a strike rate of 33 and it can be a vital and interesting innings.

Smack, crackle and pop is all very well but give me a forward defence for a little bit of substance.

Hands Up

If it is good enough to immortalise Murali and Warnies hands for a trophy then surely the great Kumble's long digits should find a place for posterity. While they were at it they could take a cast of that magnificent chin as well.
