Keeping Things Simple
The Australian cricket public have a clear expectations of their players and just as clear when it comes to expressing those expectations.

When Shots Go Bad
David Warner illustrates the fact that not everything goes as planned when it comes to the big shot - but you aren't going to score 77 from 58 balls with out the occasional slip up.

All I Wanted For Xmas Was A Five Day Test
Great knock by Warner, he has every right to be happy.
On the other hand I am not so pleased.
A summer test series in Aussie is a summer tradition where I can usually stay (fairly) impartial and enjoy the cut and thrust of the action while the Kiwi summer is blowing and raining itself into autumn.
There is very little fun to be had watching a ritual execution where those about to meet their maker don't even appear to have the will to fight for their last breath.
It is going to very hard to get up much enthusiasm for the ODI series to follow and I suspect even the Aussie fans are going to get a little tired of the slaughter - perhaps all those Indian fans who didn't turn up to the stadiums back home knew more than we thought.

Warner Strikes
Steady on David. We have all felt that way about wicketkeepers, but there are some things you just can't do in the modern era.

Refer That!
What a strange test match. Funny coloured wicket, on and off weather and almost more referrals than runs. As a Black Caps supporter I am more than happy with the result but I have some sympathy with Warner and Lyon. Not their fault - have a look at the middle order.

One For The Album
David Warner will have lots of things to remember his first test by.
He might want to keep this photo, just to prove to the grandchildren that he was once a test leg spinner.

A Slice Of The Action
David "Piranha" Warner watches the ball on to the bat, and then presumably watched it fly majestically over the fence.
I was especially taken with the shadow of the ball on the bat - the laws of physics eh? - wonderful things.
