Come Back Blainey

A loss hurts and it doesn't matter if you are a minnow (Afghanistan), a sardine (Scotland), a rather fat salmon (England) or a bloody great whale (India).

John Blain's expression conveys that hurt well, as it should when you lose to The Netherlands.

But cheer up Blainey, one of the tried and true methods to avoid embarrassment is to run away, and as luck would have it the mighty New Plymouth Old Boys Cricket Club would be more than happy to welcome you back to sunny Taradise and help you forget that pain. At present there is no opening for a number three bat/captain.

Oh, and yes, Australia would be a shark.

You’re a New Plymouth Old Boys man, MD?

That surprises me.

and so he should be...6 in a row...the skipper must be a superstar!!

The skipper is a very conservative character but an innovative shot maker.

I’d have thought a few of his employers would come down on him for that faster than you could say Ross Ormiston.

No body should ever say Ross Ormiston

I'd have thought you'd have had more a problem with Ian Ormiston.

But New Plymouth poilitcs are a bit complicated for me...
