Spring Clean Time

I know you Northern Hemispherians are slowly moving towards the dark times but we in the south are cheering up considerably.

In the spirit of spring it is time I got my act together and updated this blog. It is time for new contacts, new features and even the Lion of Huddersfield has to make way for a slightly better batsman at the head of the page.

Over the course of this week I will be chopping and changing things and I would really appreciate any input you might have over what you would like to see when you visit. I am especially looking to update the blogroll, so if you have a great cricket blog, or you know of one you can't live without, leave a comment with the link and I will share with the world.

The Marquis De Afridi

Why would Afridi do that?

Brain explosion?
Tantrum?
Sub concious self destruction?
For a bet?

I can now reveal the real reason. It was all about PR.

Yes, Great Uncle Jrod and his minions got to the boy wonder and set up the perfect promotion for their new venture, the Cricket Sadists Monthly.

Never has blogging imitated life in a more poignant way, and it helps that Afridi is nuts to start with.

Too Much Information?

Ian O'Brien has done well. Six wicket bag, long accurate spells, breakthroughs as required, so he deserves more praise than he gets from the likes of The Tippa. What I can't get over though is the fly on the wall blogging. This can't last too long before someone "in authority" gets offended in some way but in the mean time I will remain fascinated to learn of such things as...

the weapy big toe (pictured)
wearing compression tights to bed
secret signals to mum and dad after taking a wicket
and all those clever nicknames like Millsy and Baz

If you haven't visited you must go to Ian O'Brien's blog where you can enter the world of the test cricketer.

It Is A Brave Cricketer...

...who is prepared to commit his thoughts to the blogosphere while in the process of playing a test match. I commend Ian O'Brien for his enthusiasm but can't help thinking he runs the risk of offering detractors/journalists a few prezzies.

Visit Ian O'Brien for insight and a free gift.

Publish Or Perish

The good people at blogger have brought us a new twist with the blogroll that keeps updating. No more static lists, no more wondering if Omar no longer loves cricket. The prolific get the kudos and the attention, and isn't that what the internet should be all about.

The dodgy montage above celebrates some of my favourites, but you better keep blogging fellas.

Do You Have The Gift?

Can you see into the future? If not, why not put your faith in a bunch of bloggers who think they can. The great Cricket Tipping Competition is up and running, care of SportsFreak. If you are one of the three people who visit this blog and have not been asked to participate, check it out. It may not be edifying but it does have the potential to become abusive.

Time For A Change

Big Harmy is going to bring about change to The England attack - we will wait to see if it is an improvement or just a change

Meanwhile I have been putting a new broom through my links list. Gone are those hopeful bloggers who just couldn't sustain the effort or come up with more than two ideas. I shall miss Omar, who loved cricket but was not able to keep talking about it for what ever reason.

The good people at Well Pitched will now maintain a Pakistani perspective and if you need a live feed Cricket Fever has caught the bug.

Miss Field declares herself female and in love with cricket, a rare but tempting combination. Pri is a scandalous gossip who has flattered my humble blog with a link and a mention, so surely deserves reciprocation.

Last, but never least, is the Sports Freak whose busy blog offers insight and a sense of the ridiculous that can only be found south of the equator and west of Sydney.

If Harmy doesn't make a difference it is good to know there are so many people out there who are ready and able to give him shit!
