Dejected Like A Fox

The caption to the original photo was " Akmal dejected after dropping Siddle". Hmmmmmmmmm!

At least the current "revelations" suggest a reason for Akmal's continued selection despite some gawd awful keeping in recent seasons. It would seem that things become much easier when everyone expects that you are going to drop the ball or miss the stumping. Devilishly clever.

To Be Remembered

The tragedy is that this Lord's test will now be remembered for no balls and spot prices.

The worst thing about corruption is that it taints everyone, including the innocent and outstanding.

A Rainy Day In London

You have to admire the committment and loyalty of the average England cricket fan.

Pingers Meets God

I am so excited. I know someone who knows the cricket deity that is Sehwag. Now I know it is a couple of degrees of separation but my fellow teacher Peter Ingram (Pingers) can be clearly seen communing with the great one. How many of you readers of  this sad blog can claim that degree of contact? Any one who might have doubted Sehwag's divine power need only have watched him destroy the NZ attack while all around him crumbled.

The image seems to suggest Pingers is giving Sehwag some pointers, but I am sure he is just trying to explain the unexplainable - why Watling and Guptil are preferred as openers!

Legends

I am currently spending a fair bit of time working on t shirt drafts so nothing topical today, just one of my works in progress.

I would be keen on any feedback you could give me on this image of the great slinger.

The Thin Blue Line

Now what do think MS might be saying to the local boys in this photo?

Purna suggests "This pitch is flatter than my wife's home-made roti"

The Water Boy Goes Big

OK, it wasn't a classic Yuvraj innings, but it was better than the others managed. It also got him to the safety of the middle where only the bowlers could annoy him.

How Sweet It Is!

And who could blame young Mohammad Amir for celebrating? It's not like anything really comes easy for the Pakistan boys.

Design Briefs

As you will have noticed with the ad's that are starting to appear on this site I have started creating the dreaded cricket t shirt. I am just offering the Silhouette Series at present but I am looking to do a Legends Series. The image right is a trial run for that series - any feed back welcome.

While I am seeking your counsel I have an idea for another t shirt series entitled Cricket Logic and I am on the lookout for famous, or not so famous, cricketing statements. Any thoughts?

I promise to never use "the batsmans Holding, the bowlers Willy".

Riaz'zle Dazzle

Not a bad first innings from the new boy. Big and strong he hits the deck hard and looks like he could carry a fair work load. It will be intersting to see if he can develop into the perfect compliment to the swing twins.

Staying Strong

There is no fooling the Wing Commander. He knows you can't rely on Pakistan to do the expected and like all good boy scouts he will be fit and prepared.

Either that or the prunes aren't working.

Desperately Seeking Kane

I know I said I wouldn't do a picture of Kane Williamson until he scored a run but Jrod is in Sri Lanka looking for gods and slightly famous people so I promised I would post an image of the youngster for identification purposes.

It could be a little tricky 'cause in this one he is looking good scoring runs.

We loyal Kiwis know it is only a matter of time before he becomes a dominant force, and let's face it, he has got about 14 years to develop.

Out Swinging

Kumar Sangakkara is getting a bit of arc on the old helmet in this one but he need not have been too dismayed. They controlled the game from early on and the Balckcaps proved my theory of not expecting too much of them.

I will not do a picture of Kane Williamson until the poor lad scores a run.

Words Or No?

Thanks for the ongoing feedback on the silhouettes.

Big question is - include a descriptive word or let the image stand alone?

More Reactions?

Thanks for the feedback on my first silhouette. Here is another one for your perusal and comment.

A key question is would you wear this on your chest?

Here Comes The Sun Little Darling!

Last night's effort by Rossco, Styris "The Old Tusker" and the Kiwi bowlers was uplifting to those of us living in the deepest antipodes.

After months of lousy weather we have a couple of days of sunshine and our own cricketers playing ball. Winning ball.

Now I have been a Blackcaps supporter for long enough to know not to bet my house on them winning the World Cup, or the next game, but it is great to feel emotionally involved in cricket again.

What Do You Reckon?

Blogging is supposed to be all about interaction so I am seeking some input from you cricket freaks out there.

I am currently playing with some ideas for a series of silhouette images that may end up on tshirts. This is an example. Do we like, hate or have any suggestions?

History Never Has the Last Word

Zulqarnain Haider and Saeed Ajmal congratulate each other on being Test cricketers. The new boys have made the difference and, even though they will probably not win the match, their efforts are just what the rest of the team needed. But this is Pakistan so you can read nothing into what might happen next.

What The....?!*!

... hell am I doing here?
... bloody hell were we doing batting first?
... hell do we call this? We can't call it batting!

A Hard Day's Work

This pic seems to suggest the bowler (Sharma) and fielder (Vijay) had to work pretty hard for their success against Sri Lanka.

Sharma will be hoping he can put his feet up and not be required to bolster the tail in this innings.

Sehwag Lifts The Pace

After a very ungodlike scoring rate in the last test the great one got a wriggle on against the Lankans.

Word on the street was he was in a hurry to get off and dig into the latest edition of the Cricket Sadist's Quarterly.

How's that for shameless promotion!

Carnival!

Cricket With Balls recently posted on the Caribbean T20 and how much "fun" Jrod had derived from watching the goings on.

When I came across this photo I began to understand where he was coming from. The IPL dancers could learn a thing or two here.

Conquerors of Swing

While the bowlers have the great figures it was perhaps the two century makers who were most crucial to England's victory.

And to the victors go the stumps.
